Identifying an Old Waukesha      (added April 2010)

Waukesha Engine Historical Society records generally do not include the equipment manufacturer’s model number that old Waukesha engines were used in. This information can usually be found by researching the old equipment manufacturer on the Internet.

Hint: Surprising as it may seem, “Waukesha” has used the same part numbering scheme for its major engine components throughout its long history. The last two digits of the part number for a major engine component are coded to identify what the component is. For example:

If the last two digits of the stamped or cast part number on two or more of these components on your engine end in these two digits, it is most likely a Waukesha, but it does not indicate the engine model.
